Held at the usual venue, the Bridge Hotel, Walshford Bridge, Near Wetherby, N Yorks. LS55 5HS. This event is a by-invitation only, knock-out style match with competitors qualifying by winning specific places in Bernese classes at Championship Shows. The identity of the judges – usually a breed-specialist and an all-rounder - are kept secret until they are announced on the day and spectators can book to attend. This year the judges were breed specialist Phil Rodgers (Fallsrush) and all-rounder Gary Scobell (Samoravich).
There were 49 competitors entered across the 4 categories; of Veteran, Youngster, Youth and Champion.

There was also a special Progeny rosette and this was shared by two sires - Helen Davenport-Willis’ Apriori Usain Bolt Among Nelsbern (Imp Rus) and Julie Baldwin’s Ch Tjofselina’s Z Diamuz At Fortonpark (Imp Swe) who each had 3 progeny entered.
The Superleague 2022 all-rounder judge Gary Scobell commented;
“On Saturday I had the honour of being the "Non breed specialist" co-judge at the Northern Bernese Mountain Dog Club Super League Finals.
“Credit to the organisers for a really enjoyable day but more importantly to the exhibitors and their dogs for making the event such a success. Breeders, owners and exhibitors should be proud of their achievements and the dogs (especially the veterans) are a credit to them.
“I have singled out the veterans in the comment above in particular as every single entrant was present and even at ten years plus of age showed their heads off and were well-presented in super fit condition.
“Temperaments were to be commended and only a couple of youngsters looked a little unsure of the unusual surroundings but nothing that I would be concerned about.
“As is often the case in head to head knock out competition some fabulous exhibits didn't make it through to the final rounds and left my co-judge and I with some very difficult decisions to make in some instances, however we could not be happier with our overall winners in each category. Congratulations to everyone involved.”
